  • Once the guilt-free indulgences of the holidays wear off and the motivational mindset of the new years’ resolutions kick in, there’s usually one thing that’s floating in the back of every woman’s mind: getting fit for spring. Here are three of the hottest workouts that will get you in tip top shape come beach weather:

Ballet – Ballet is one of the hottest workouts because it offers so many benefits. It will increase your strength, flexibility, and balance while toning your arms, butt and legs. If you don’t have the time to join a weekly class, or can’t find it offered in your area, you can easily do a few ballet inspired workouts right at home. Demi plies are a great way to start: Stand up straight with one hand holding a chair for balance. Make sure your ankles are together, with your feet point out comfortably. Your other arm should be stretched out beside you at chest height, partially bent at the elbow and wrist. Slowly (and gracefully!) bend your knees to the point where your knees reach out past the tips of your toes and rise back up again. Try doing 3 sets of 15 plies.

Zumba – Zumba is one of the hottest new workouts trending right now and it’s easy to see why: A Latin inspired dance-fitness workout that let’s you get down to international beats. These workout classes let you groove your way to a beach ready body, and you’ll have fun doing it! Zumba has been spreading like wildfire, with tens of thousands of locations in over 110 countries! Visit to find a class!

Yoga – While yoga may be an ancient form of exercise, its benefits are great and it’s more popular than ever. Yoga will increase your flexibility, tone your muscles, and help burn fat. In addition, yoga is known to relax your mind and give you a better sense of awareness. There are many different types of yoga with some focusing more on relaxation and stretching techniques, while others are all about fitness, strength training and holding long poses. Make sure to choose the one that’s right for you!

Make sure to keep your workouts consistent (at least 1-3 times per week!). With a little effort, your body will thank you when it’s time to pick out your new summer bikini!
